Behind the sound is sometimes me, sometimes LeShaman, and often both of us together. He’s not on every project, but we work side by side a lot. My main focus is sound design and audio post, while he focuses on composition. On the projects we share, I usually take care of the overall direction, and we bounce ideas back and forth until something clicks.
Behind the Sound
Some of the best parts of this work happen before a project is finished. We’ve documented how we approach projects and how ideas come together. It’s not unusual for us to go out and record raw sounds for later use or test custom-made instruments from whatever’s lying around, like keys, rulers, coins, or empty jars.
