Cerul e limita

Cerul e limita

Cerul e limita
Performed by Stela Boțan, this song captures that early rush when love feels untouchable. Lying next to him, listening to his heartbeat, she finds a quiet kind of magic. It’s not about fairy tales, it’s about feeling safe, grounded, and wide open. With him there, suddenly the sky’s the limit.
This one started as a demo me and Andi Grasu wrote for a big artist we had in mind. We wanted to record it first and see how it would fit, but before we even got the chance, the label asked if we’d be open to trying it with a new upcoming artist from Moldova. She had heard the demo and really wanted to give it a shot.
Even though our plan was to pitch it to the original artist, we thought why not. If it didn’t work, at least we’d meet someone new.
Two days later, Stela Boțan showed up at our studio in Bucharest. She had come all the way from Moldova. A quiet, well-mannered girl, very shy. We gave her the lyrics, explained the story, and she stepped into the booth.
The moment she started singing, we froze. I remember looking at Andi, both of us smiling, eyes a bit teary. That kind of smile when you know something special just happened. Her voice fit the song perfectly, and the emotion was real. It was clear. No second thoughts. This song belonged to her.
So we had a choice to make. We could stick to the original plan and wait for the big established artist we had in mind, or take a chance and release this song as Stela’s first single. No name, no following, just talent.
We chose to go with Stela.
The song hit number 1 in both Romania and Moldova within three weeks of release. Later that year, she was nominated for Best Voice and Best Song at the Radio Academy Music Awards. We’re proud of that choice.
Sometimes the best moments in the studio are the ones you didn’t plan.
