The process
My job was to compose and arrange the music, plus handle all the sound effects for the TV commercial. For the digital campaign, they created a bunch of funny short videos that had to stay connected to the main TV theme. So part of the job was adapting the music and theme across all those different edits.
It was a fun experience, especially working with actors speaking a language I don’t understand. Well, I knew what they were supposed to say from the script, but I had to rely on intuition to pick the right takes.
Interesting fact—when you listen to music or dialogue in a language you don’t understand, it can actually be a huge advantage. Without the words getting in the way, your brain focuses more on the emotion and delivery. You start to hear things more clearly. It sounds odd, but it’s like a superpower. I’m very serious about that.
