Replica de cinema

Replica de cinema
Performed by Lavinia, this song looks at the end of a one-sided love. She gave everything, he stayed closed off. In the end, it felt more like a movie script than something real. There’s regret but also honesty, accepting that not all stories go deep and sometimes letting go is the only real closure.
The song was originally called Trista mi-e fericirea (“Sad is my happiness”). Lavinia actually came to the studio with a different, unfinished idea she wanted to work on, but as soon as she heard this one, she changed her mind. She felt this was the story she really wanted to tell.
We wrote it fast, with Robert Toma jumping in right away. He understood the tone she was going for and helped shape it into what it became. Later, Lavinia felt that Replica de cinema (“Movie line”) was a better fit for the message, so the title changed.
Lavinia is a well-known voice in Romania and a really talented artist. The way she delivered this one nailed that quiet irony. It felt natural, not overdone, and made the whole story hit harder.
